ZERO-SHADOW:
The faithful brave the noon-day heat to perform Dhuhr prayer at the
Kaaba at the Grand Mosque in Makkah on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, during
which the sun was positioned directly over the holy city. Astronomers
explain that the celestial phenomenon occurs twice every year — May 28
and July 16th — at the Grand Mosque because of its location between the
equator and the Tropic of Cancer. (AN photos by Ahmad Hashad)
